ChatGPT to Google Docs converter
Paste an AI answer and copy it into Google Docs as real headings, lists, and tables, in the Docs default font. No add-on to install.
Paste an answer from ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. Headings, lists, tables, bold text, and links are turned into real formatting that pastes cleanly.
What changed
- Runs in your browser. Nothing you paste is uploaded.
- Free, with no account.
- Works with ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini.
How to copy ChatGPT output into Google Docs
-
Copy the answer
Use the copy button under the ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini answer. That copies the Markdown version, which carries the structure.
-
Paste it here
The preview shows the formatted result right away: headings, bold text, lists, and tables.
-
Copy for Google Docs
Click "Copy for Google Docs" and paste into your document with Ctrl+V or ⌘V. A .docx download is there too if you would rather upload a file to Drive.
What survives the trip to Google Docs
- Headings become Docs heading styles, so the document outline fills in.
- Tables arrive as real Docs tables with a header row.
- Numbered and bulleted lists stay lists, including nested levels.
- Text arrives in Arial 11, the Docs default, without the fonts and background colors of the chat page.
- Hidden characters such as zero-width spaces are removed.
Questions about ChatGPT and Google Docs
Why does my pasted ChatGPT text look wrong in Google Docs?
It depends on how you copied it. The copy button gives you Markdown, so Docs shows ** and ## symbols. Selecting the text by hand copies the look of the chat page, so Docs picks up its fonts and background colors. This converter hands Docs clean formatting instead.
Do I need an add-on or extension?
No. It is a web page. Paste, copy, and switch back to your document.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs in your browser. The text you paste is not sent to a server.
Do equations convert to Docs equations?
Not yet. LaTeX formulas are kept exactly as written, so nothing is lost, but they are not turned into equation objects.
